Most of the human body facts are hard to perceive, therefore searching for answers won’t stop. We need to better understand the fascinating way by which it works. The human body is an industrial complex consisting of factories where almost every part of that complex keeps going without rest. Hence, with no doubts, the human body is the most embellished and neat factory ever known!

Bizarre but Amazing Body Facts

Hydration

#1 Water is essential for the body to be capable of digesting and absorbing food.

#2 Drinking water after eating decreases acid in the mouth by 60%.

#3 Normal people can live without drinking water for about 3 days. Besides, some people can survive with no water for up to 8 days.

Human Body Facts

Muscles

#4 The muscles used to blink, are also for squinting and winking.

#5 There are 43 facial muscles but approximately 36 of these muscles control the facial expressions.

#6 Not all of the facial muscles are involved in smiling and frowning.

#7 There are 3 types of muscles in the body. Cardiac (only in the heart), smooth (as GIT), and skeletal (as Biceps and Abs).

#8 Blinking one eye requires the contraction of 3 muscles. The orbicularis oculi, the levator palpebrae, and the muller’s muscle (the superior tarsal muscle).

#9 The heart is the hardest working muscle in the human body.

#10 Gluteus maximus is the largest muscle. It is strong and large because it’s mandated to keep the trunk of the body in a straight posture.

Bone

#11 Tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the human body.

#12 The sternum bone consists of 3 bones fused together. Manubrium (upper part), body/breastbone (middle part), and xiphoid process (lower part).

#13 The skeleton of an adult consists of 206 distinct bones.

#14 If the sternum is considered as 3 parts, the skeleton is defined as 208 different bones.

#15 Human beings have a spine formed of 33 vertebrae.

#16 The spine has 24 separate vertebrae. 7 cervical (neck region), 12 thoracics (thorax region), and 5 lumbar (belly region).

#17 There are 9 fused vertebrae in the spine, 5 sacral (sacrum), and 4 coccygeal (coccyx). Therefore, they are 2 sets and each set is one part.

#18 The last 4 vertebrae of the spine, coccygeal vertebrae, are vestigial (have no function).

#19 Since walking enhances a peak bone mass, you need to walk for at least 30 minutes every day.

Heart and Circulatory system

#20 A normal heart could give 100, 000 beats per day.

#21 The heart pumps around 71 grams of blood with each heartbeat.

#22 During a lifetime, the heart is capable of beating over 3 billion times.

#23 The whole distance the blood goes through arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, and veins, is around 96, 000 kilometers.

Other interesting Human Body Facts

#24 Though the eyebrows have no specific role, they give a good facial appearance.

#25 The human body comprises more than 30 trillion living cells.

#26 Although the body can digest a very wide variety of foods, it has no capability of digesting chewing gums.

#27 The eyeballs consist of 3.5% salt. Furthermore, they stay the same size from birth to death.

#28 A cough gets out at a velocity of 100 km/hr.

#29 You can’t sneeze whilst your eyes are open.

#30 Nose is the air-conditioning system of the body since it optimizes the temperature of the air inhaled.

#31 Electrical impulses going through nerves are much faster than the fastest blink of an eye.

#32 A normal person breathes 7 quarts (7 quarters of a gallon) of air each minute.

#33 You can cease breathing for 3 minutes most but you do not have to do that.

#34 Skin is the first defense line against bacterial invasion. Besides, it is the largest organ of the body.
